THE WORK
This position supports the Engineering and Maintenance Teams at Lockheed Martin Owego. The selected candidate will initially work under the guidance of the team with the goal of quickly becoming an independent subject matter expert.
Duties will include :
Supporting site infrastructure (HVAC, chilled water, steam, compressed air, high quality water) systems / equipment, Production Equipment and the development, installation, maintenance, monitoring, and use of new / existing facilities Building Management Systems (BMS)
Interpreting existing equipment and building corresponding BMS graphics. Building graphics in BMS.
Understanding of iFIX, Allen Bradley, Trane, Symax, and pneumatic control systems. Allen Bradley and Trane Control Systems
Utilizing BMS and fault detection & diagnostics (FDD) software for daily troubleshooting, optimization, along with electrical and mechanical repair and optimization of site infrastructure (HVAC, steam, chilled water, compressed air, high quality water) systems and equipment across the Owego facility campus (1.6 MSF)
Working closely with the Facilities Engineering and Facilities Maintenance Teams to diagnose, repair, recalibrate, or replace infrastructure to improve reliability and efficiencies throughout the site.
Experience with existing building commissioning and retro-commissioning practices per AEE and ASHRAE certifications and practices.
Experience programming or scripting in a language and an aptitude for picking up new languages (Logic Writing).
Familiarity with power plant equipment, systems, and operations including chilled water, steam, compressed air, and high quality water operations.
Triaging faults & anomalies to prioritize response team effort and verifying faults have been corrected.
Integrate new equipment, add new analytics and configure monitoring systems related to building renovations, new construction & existing labs / offices.
Tuning analytic rules & performing continuous quality control on expansive data sets to improve site system efficiencies.
Willingness to continuously & proactively look for problems and opportunities to improve system performance
Works independently and with the Facilities Team to support the Smart Buildings Team.
Obtains, supervises and coordinates outside contractors when needed.
Attend multiple weekly meetings, reporting on projects.

Desired skills
- Experience working in a facilities organization.
- Previous experience working for an organization that performs major and minor building renovations in a commercial environment
- Experience PLC programming, equipment setup, and troubleshooting
- Ability to interact with employees, contractors and vendors to direct, coordinate and maintain quality control over projects
- Ability to plan and conduct tasks requiring independent judgement in the evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard design engineering techniques
