Join Us! Our busy optometric practice at Northeastern Eye Institute is looking for Medical Scribe in Clarks-Summit, PA. Joining our team as a Scribe will fast track your career goals! You will assist nationally known vision specialists by using advanced technology.

Experience as an Ophthalmic Technician is a plus!

Responsibilities :

Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician, and other procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professionals, including nurses and physician assistants.

Prepare referral letters as directed by the physician, via dictation or summary of the medical record; Ensure that letters are prepared to all physicians involved in a patient’s care, and with all copies of pertinent reports or tests attached.

Research contact information for referring physicians, coordinate referrals, make phone calls, and other clerical tasks as assigned.

Follow all safety procedures as per guidelines.

Qualifications :

Excellent attention to detail.

Be highly organized and able to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner with a high level of quality and energy.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to maintain confidential employee and company information.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and work independently.

Apply exceptional communication skills to interact with patients and schedule appointments and surgeries.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Outlook).

One year of specialized ophthalmic experience is desirable or completion of on-the-job training upon hiring.

Experience as a scribe is preferred.

Experience as an ophthalmic technician is a PLUS!
