Senior Principal Electrical Engineer
Position Summary Reporting to the Head of Radio Frequency (RF) Concepts Lab (RFCONLAB), Electromagnetics and Cyber Group (EMCG), and supporting Metrea’s overall engineering efforts, the Senior Principal Electrical Engineer will join our busy team specializing in state-of-the-art military communications and signals intelligence products.
All our teams operate in a small agile environment which allows our engineering personnel to work independently on a wide variety of systems and products.
Our mix of product development and R&D also provides our engineering staff a constant flow of new and interesting projects.
The Senior Principal Electrical Engineer must be able to assist the Head of RF Concepts Lab in developing and documenting scalable processes, assisting in project schedule development and task tracking, work breakdown structure development, as well as deployment of engineering design and configuration management tools.
As a member of the RF Concepts Lab, the individual will have clear communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to develop trusting relationships with peer, senior, and junior teammates across the enterprise This position provides the opportunity to grow business knowledge in a dynamic, ever-evolving aerospace company.
The Senior Principal Electrical Engineer works closely across the staff to ensure transparency in methodologies and processes across Metrea.

Senior Principal Electrical Engineer RESPONSIBILITIES : Developing the Metrea Capability ( ΟΝ )
Process, Systems & Frameworks Development : Support the design, development, and management of small teams of mixed engineering disciplines : Mechanical, Electrical, RF, Software;
in schedule and resource constrained high priority projects with particular focus on the implementation of effective, efficient, and scalable technologies and processes that assist in execution of the business, and customer and mission support.
Support the development of the necessary engineering frameworks and models, and in partnership across Metrea, acquire and implement systems, capabilities, and methodologies that will best facilitate customer support from tactical to strategic levels across the group.
Support the development of an overall technical solution that covers the entire product management lifecycle : working with end customers to discover current use cases, needs, and capabilities, developing CONOPS, solution architectures, requirements synthesis, and decomposition, trade studies, make vs buy decisions, and analysis of alternatives.
People Development : Identify areas of growth in Metrea’s knowledge, skillsets, and attitudes, and develop a systematic approach to professional development and talent acquisition to build a high-performing systems engineering team.
Technology Development : Identify RF software, hardware, and infrastructure requirements to support Metrea and create a roadmap framework across Metrea.
TEAMMATE RESPONSIBILITIES : Providing Support Capacity across Metrea ( IN )
Strategy BCA : Support the Strategy (STRAT) BCA to inform enterprise strategy and Metrea considerations and remain an active participant on all major enterprise engineering decisions, to include the commencement of new software, hardware, and infrastructure capabilities.
Operations BCA : Work closely with the Electromagnetic & Cyber Group (EMCG) Leadership Team to inform the design, implementation, and further development of Metrea Aerospace’s technical and engineering methodologies.
Legal BCA : Provide LEG / Compliance with the EMCG’s inputs that are required to perform all necessary compliance functions and ensure that Metrea’s compliance policies cover all known requirements as required.
Work closely with LEG / Contracts to ensure that contract structuring & economics supports business objectives and customer requirements.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs.
Exempt employees must have the ability to be on-call and available outside of typical working hours, as business needs require.

Required Education, Experience and Certificates
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium Designer.
- Experience with circuit analysis and simulation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics
Preferred Education, Experience and Certificates
- Experience with RF or Antenna design.
- Experience with high-speed data interfaces : 100GbE, PCIe Gen4, Thunderbolt / USB 4.0.
- Experience with digital signal processing or communication theory.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
Work Authorization / Security Clearance
Ideally hold some level of Security Clearance or able to apply for one.
Experience within the aerospace, defense, security and / or government contracting and logistics across several programs and / or projects simultaneously.
Moderate experience in capturing customer requirements and assisting in the development of statements of work (SOW), plans of action and milestones, and customer interactions.
Basic understanding of the policies, processes, priorities, and organization of the US Government in general, and the Department of Defense in particular, around national security matters.
Ability to communicate effectively across cultures, regions and industries, and experience in working in diverse international environments.
Highly developed sense of judgement and maturity.
Intellectually curious, with strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
