Position Overview :

The Senior Interior Design position will require many hats. The candidate will work alongside architects, interior designers, and technical professionals across HBGs three offices, which include Dallas, San Diego, CA, and Memphis, TN.

This position is unique in that you will lead the establishment and advancement of our Interior Design group in our Dallas office as a supervisor of a locally based team.

Youll be directly involved in staff recruitment and retention, helping to shape the future face of our integrated architectural and interior design practice.

You will be responsible for the creative oversight of projects while working with team members in all three offices. Primary responsibilities include advancing design development, meeting project deadlines and developing client relationships.

You will work hand-in-hand with our Interior Design Director, Dallas Office Leader, and Practice Leader on all aspects of the role.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate advanced communication skills and proven experience leading multi-specialty project teams through the design process while collaborating with senior design leaders and practice staff.

In this role, the Senior Interior Designer will develop advanced-level designs and have a well-developed understanding of project development and production processes.

A seasoned professional, the ideal candidate will demonstrate experience working with large teams in an integrated practice environment.

Position Responsibilities :

TEAM LEADERSHIP :

Collaborate with Dallas Office Leader and ID Director to establish and advance our Dallas-based Interior Design group; participate in recruiting and interviewing candidates.

Inspire and mentor staff to cultivate a collaborative design culture.

Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching to design staff in performing their duties.

Regularly evaluate designers' performance, participate in performance reviews, and share assessments with the ID Director, Dallas Office Leader, Project Managers, and other Senior Interior Design and Architecture staff.

Work cooperatively with other design disciplines, including internal clients, external clients, and consultants.

PRACTICE LEADERSHIP :

Lead the overall design concept development of projects in concert with the Project Manager and / or Project Architect / Architectural Designer.

Develop the interior design, interior architecture and graphic design for each project utilizing 2D and 3D graphic skills.

Direct the selection of finish and FFE palettes for each project and prepare documents for presentations.

Coordinate the work of consultants related to design issues in collaboration with the Project Manager and Architecture / Interior Project Architecture Leadership.

Control design-related aspects of the project labor budget, construction and FF&E budgets, and design and design-related aspects of the construction schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.

Build upon existing Materials Library and establish relationships with regional project vendors.

Qualifications :

Registered Interior Designer.

Bachelors degree and / or Masters degree from an Interior Design / Interior Architecture Program.

Minimum ten years practical experience in hospitality design with a focus on entertainment design.

Ability to lead a team from schematic design through construction documents.

Thorough understanding of the design process, market experience, and client expectations.

Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities.

Graphic and artistic ability and / or computer / technology capability in design.
