We're seeking candidates for a position as Vice President Assistant General Counsel in the Fair & Responsible Banking practice group.
As a Fair and Responsible Banking - Vice President, Assistant General Counsel within the Banking Legal team, you will provide legal support on the Americans with Disabilities Act, laws providing protections for elder and vulnerable individuals, fair lending and related laws (including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and Fair Housing Act), and considerations when serving customers with limited English proficiency.
The position can be located in the firm’s Columbus (Ohio), Plano, Tampa, Chicago, or Washington . locations.

Job Responsibilities
- Advising on all aspects of legal, regulatory and compliance matters related to the Americans with Disabilities Act and Elder and Vulnerable Persons Abuse laws for both business and legal clients
- Providing fair lending-related legal support to JPMC’s lines of business (., Auto Lending, Business Banking, Card, Commercial Bank, and Home Lending), supporting operational areas (.
Fraud, Risk, and Collections), and JPMC’s Office of Fair Lending, which oversees and administers the firm’s overall Fair Lending Compliance Program
- Addressing questions related to compliance with fair lending and related laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Regulation B, the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and Regulation C, the Fair Housing Act and its implementing regulations
- Assisting with unique fair lending, UDAP and other issues related to serving individuals with limited English proficiency
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities
- JD or educational equivalent, and compliance with all relevant attorney licensing requirements, including requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment
- At least seven years of legal practicing experience with financial regulatory expertise
- Experience with one or more of the following : The Americans with Disabilities Act, Protections for elder and vulnerable individuals, Federal and state fair lending and related laws, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Housing Act, and their implementing regulations
- Analytical, organizational, strategic and written and oral communication skills
- An ownership mentality with demonstrated ability to manage a large number of issues simultaneously and effectively advise and engage management
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving and project management skills, judgment and character
- A proven ability to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to effectively navigate unsettled or uncharted legal issues
- Successful completion of a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment
