What's your day like?

As a RN Nurse Manager in Crisis Stabilization at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will play a crucial role in providing supervision and coordination of psychiatric and medical services to clients with various mental health and substance use disorders at our Regional Crisis Stabilization Center.

Your participation in a multidisciplinary approach will involve rapid assessment, crisis intervention, medication administration, and monitoring to address acute symptoms and prevent hospitalization.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing nursing staff and supporting the staff psychiatrist in medication management, crisis intervention, and counseling services.

Proficiency in interviewing and supportive counseling techniques, agency procedures and policies, and community services and treatment providers is crucial.

The ability to maintain client medical records in accordance with regulations, plan, supervise, and evaluate the work of subordinates, and communicate effectively while preparing related documentation is necessary.

Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with others, collecting and analyzing behavioral and statistical data to determine areas of quality improvement and risk management, and preparing reports are also required.

Additionally, candidates should possess good knowledge of basic computer software.
