Special Education Teacher
Location : Oxford, PA
Position Type : Full-Time
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address students' unique educational needs and goals.
- Provide specialized instruction and support to enhance students academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
- Assess and monitor student progress regularly, using data to inform instructional decisions and make necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school counselors, and other professionals to support student inclusion and success.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about students progress, needs, and strategies for support.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of educational strategies and plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students performance, behavior, and progress.
- Stay current with best practices in special education and engage in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education or eligibility for certification.
- Proven experience working with students with a range of disabilities and learning needs.
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning styles and needs.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to teaching and student support.
