Our client - a successful, growing finance company based in Austin - is seeking an energetic, conscientious individual with knowledge of the commercial real estate financing market, along with underwriting and project management experience, to join their Underwriting team.
This person will aid in the origination, underwriting, and servicing of transactions that meet the company's volume and underwriting criteria.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct credit and market analysis on new opportunities as well as for projects in the closing process
- Draft credit memos for complex commercial real estate transactions to be presented at credit committee
- Prepare term sheets for delivery to potential borrowers
- Communicate with borrowers and third parties to obtain information relevant to the underwriting
- process
- Compile and analyze diligence and underwriting packages for completeness, ensuring PACE financing
- file meets program and investor guidelines
- Verify compliance with internal lending parameters, facilitate approval process, and communicate
- effectively with cross functional teams including Originations, Legal, Finance, and Transactions
- Deliver specific assigned tasks and projects in a timely manner
- Participate in team meetings, being an engaged and contributing member of the organization
- Take responsibility for process improvement initiatives, refinement of best practices, and other assigned
- action items
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of experience as a commercial real estate analyst at a bank or private investment firm
- Minimum undergraduate degree
- Strong judgement is required in this role; decision making at every level is critical due to the fast-paced
- nature of the organization and industry
- Must have the ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to communicate with new relationships including those at the C-level
- Familiarity with CoStar is preferred
- Experience with complex financial transaction management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
