Network Security Engineer (Fortinet, Mountain or Pacific Region)

DGR Systems, a growing premier technology consulting company, is actively seeking a Network Security Engineer experienced in the design and implementation of enterprise networks to join our highly competent team.

As a Network Security Engineer, you will perform a variety of technical and operational duties in support of the company’s network security practice.

This position requires a candidate who is motivated and passionate about network security concepts such as LAN / WAN and SD-WAN.

In addition, this position requires a candidate with excellent communication and presentation skills who can engage with clients.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement and transition Fortinet firewalls, switches, access points, and other security solutions to meet the needs of customers.

Work alongside other engineering resources.Maintain evolving industry certifications and participate in continuous professional development.

Create and maintain complex network documentation and topology diagrams.Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime.

RequirementsMinimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with network appliances (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, Meraki, Watchguard, Juniper).

Proficiency in Fortinet's products and solutions is highly valued.Fortinet FCP certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.

In-depth understanding of network engineering, security (endpoint and network firewall) architecture and design.Demonstrated experience with routing protocols, network (wired and wireless) design, implementation, and troubleshooting network performance issues.

Strong knowledge of LAN / WAN administration and concepts including DHCP, DNS, VLAN's, firewalls, NAT, wireless technology, and the ability to configure switches required.

Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining SD-WAN highly desired.Ability to quickly analyze and assess issues and collaborate in real time.

Ability to create network diagrams and detailed design and implementation documentation.Ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team to achieve objectives.

Ability to follow defined methodologies to ensure a successful outcome of delivery engagements.Up-to-date understanding of modern security threats and defense methods.

Able to clearly communicate detailed technical concepts in both oral and written formats.Thorough understanding of modern routing and switching technologies including cloud networking concepts.

Proven track record in guiding clients through the evaluation and selection of technical solutions to address business requirements in a consultative manner.

Must be willing to work with customers who are located in mountain and pacific time zones.Must be willing to travel when needed.
