Orthology Physical Therapy, part of Optum part of Optum, has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Part Time Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team.

Part Time Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes.

Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.

Schedule : This is a 20-hour work week, Monday through Friday 6 : 30 am to 7 : 00 pm, shift to be determined by the hiring manager upon hire.

Location : 3 Delaware Drive, Suite , Lake Success, NY

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Welcomes patients and visitors by warmly greeting them in person or on the telephone and assisting with their needs
  • Answers high volume of incoming calls and makes outgoing calls as needed
  • Checks patients in / out according to company procedures
  • Schedules appointments in person or on the phone. Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization when scheduling appointments
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal, insurance, and financial information
  • Obtains revenue by collecting and recording patient charges
  • Active engagement with interoffice communication through email, phone, chats, etc.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
  • Works on assigned daily / weekly reports as needed
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
  • Maintains a tidy and inviting reception area
  • Ability to cover shifts for coworkers
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other duties as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service or Healthcare related experience
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC)
  • Knowledge of Medical terms
  • 1+ years of experience working in medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in / out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to be empathetic and kind towards patients

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others

New York Residents Only : The salary range for New York residents is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
