Job Title : Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical expertise to improve manufacturing processes, ensure product quality, and safely improve manufacturing efficiencies.

They will own the processes within the fiberglass mill area of the greater plant including managing the necessary sizing chemicals and chemistry used for processing the raw material.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement and lead implementation of any necessary resolutions / improvements
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency
  • Develop detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow
  • Research and develop new processes, equipment, and products
  • Develop and implement cost-saving measures and quality control systems, work closely with other departments for quality control of raw materials and evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control
  • Ensuring manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations
  • Work closely with plant production management staff on continuous improvement initiatives and support other department managers in achieving overall site objectives
  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and provides management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to understand future requirements for the manufacturing process
  • Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs, along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision-making
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and ensure that manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational

Hard Skills

  • Chemistry / chemical experience - sizing chemicals (dispersant, flocculant, etc) used in processing and agitation process for separating material bundles
  • Manufacturing process analysis and improvement
