Genesis10 is seeking a Manager, Financial Governance for our client in the utilities industry. This long term contract position is located in Dallas, TX 75201.
DESCRIPTION
The Manager Financial Governance will be responsible for managing and overseeing the processes related to OpEx financials for the Technology organization.
This includes oversight for the monthly financial reporting and annual budget planning cycles, cost management, vendor payments, and regulatory support.
Key Roles & Responsibilities :
Provide oversight to the Financial Governance team to perform the following : Complete monthly close and financial reporting activities accurately and on time, including accruals, variance explanations and projections.
Analyze financial and operational data for the purpose of drawing conclusions and making recommendations. Develop the annual OpEx plan for Technology, in alignment with Client and Technology strategy and guidelines.
Collaborate with Client Financial Support to prepare and communicate monthly consolidated financial reports and consolidated annual plan for the overall TMC organization.
Pay Technology vendors accurately and on time and ensure all transactions are recorded properly on the Client financial statements.
Complete monthly and quarterly SOX controls accurately and on time. Review all contracts and statements of work and assign appropriate accounting allocations.
- Organize and clearly communicate priorities with staff to ensure work projects are completed accurately within acceptable time limits, prepared appropriately for the targeted audience, easily understood, and represent the highest quality work product.
- Evaluate existing processes for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Client and GAAP financial policies and guidelines.
- Develop and provide financial information for regulatory filings and rate case proceedings, including developing information for witness testimony, quantifying known & measurable adjustments, and responding to RFI requests.
- Review intangible assets on a quarterly basis, identify assets that need to be retired, and complete the quarterly SOX control.
- Create and provide leadership with respect to financial training opportunities for Technology employees and contractors.
- Actively develop relationships with key business partners.
- Confirm and abide by all procedures, policies and regulatory guidance.
- Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Education- College degree in accounting or finance is required. CPA or MBA preferred.
- Experience Proven financial leader with a minimum of five years of experience leading diverse financial teams. Ten years of experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of accounting theory, invoice management, SOX compliance.
SKILLS Broad understanding of various technologies and information tools currently in use at Client. Business / commercially-focused and results-oriented Able to lead a diverse group involved in various technical aspects of accounting and technology.
Able to lead various teams, committees, and councils composed of parties from across Client. Able to understand the overall picture and objectives of Client.
Strong communication skills and the ability to render good judgment and sound decisions. Strong presentation and organization skills for work in a collaborative environment.
- Hybrid work environment with 3 days in office requirement
- Ability to travel up to 5% of your time
Measures of Success
- Ensure financial impact of Technology transactions, including contracts, licenses, and maintenance agreements are accurately reflected in actual results and projections.
- Ability to lead strong teams to meet organizational goals and objectives.
- Meet all deadlines and schedules related to month end closing, projections, and annual plan preparation.
- Accurately report monthly Technology OpEx financials.
- Report monthly OpEx variances along with explanations to Controller, CFO, and other financial partners.
- Develop and communicate the Technology annual OpEx Plan on a timely basis.
- Ability to build solid working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure successful and timely completion of all programs.
