Scope of Position
The Endoscopy Technician (ET) functions as an integral member of a team of care providers in the Gastroenterology Endoscopy unit, who reflects a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm and mutual respect.
The team, consisting of the RN, LPN, Sterile Supply Tech, Information Associate, Office Assistants, Office Associates, and Physicians, provides patient care and supportive services to achieve positive patient outcomes, improving service levels, reducing length of hospitalization and cost reduction.
Position Summary
The ET is responsible for providing care to the patient under the direction of the RN and / or Physician. The ET is responsible for performing technical skills related to endoscopic patient care, reporting to the RN and documenting.
Under the supervision of the Endoscopy Charge Nurse, the ET performs basic endoscopy room tasks, direct patient care activities and equipment processing.
Under direct supervision of an endoscopic physician, the ET assists with endoscope and specimen handling.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire :
Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED with one year of experience required.
