Key responsibilities:
- Assure the teams in their department are crewed and supervised properly to meet customer needs in a safe and efficient manner
- Coordinate with the other Production Manager, the Supply Chain team, QC the Maintenance team, and HR to meet Safety, Quality, and Production goals for their department
- Assure written procedures (safety, operations, environmental) are up to date and adequate
- Actively work with Shift Supervisors and Leaders on developing appropriate skills
- Monitor line & equipment performance and improvement programs
- Lead and facilitate continuous improvement activity in department
- Involved in hiring, disciplinary, and employee relations processes
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading operations teams, motivating people, understanding complex processes, and using data to inform decisions
- Oversight of multiple teams in 24x7 environment with a total of at least 50 people
- Experienced maintaining, and enhancing modern Safety Management Systems
- Proficient in use of modern Electronic Management Systems
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement and Process Reliability methods and metrics
- Experience with Process Control in continuous production environment
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Able to effectively manage workload for several priorities at once
- Able to move safely and effectively throughout the facility as needed and occasionally be part of troubleshooting or operating team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Experience:
- Project Management and Coordination
- Operating equipment and managing teams in a semi-automated manufacturing environment
- Ability to write/modify documents such as safety rules and operating procedures
- Ability to efficiently write routine reports and correspondence in both email and document form
- Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees
