Job Title : Crawlspace Technician
Job Overview :
The Crawl Space Technician is responsible for performing various tasks related to the inspection, maintenance, repair, and improvement of crawl spaces.
This role involves working in confined spaces, ensuring the structural integrity, moisture control, and overall condition of the crawl space are maintained.
The technician will work under the supervision of a Crawl Space Foreman and collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities :
Inspection and Assessment :
Conduct thorough inspections of crawl spaces to identify issues such as structural damage, moisture problems, pest infestations, and insulation deficiencies.
Document findings and report to the Crawl Space Foreman for further analysis and planning.
Installation and Repair :
Install moisture barriers, insulation, ventilation systems, and drainage solutions to protect and improve the condition of crawl spaces.
Perform repairs on structural components, including joists, beams, and supports. Address and repair water damage, pest damage, and other issues as required.
Maintenance :
Regularly perform maintenance tasks to ensure the ongoing integrity and functionality of crawl spaces. Clean and sanitize crawl spaces to remove debris, mold, and pests.
Safety Compliance :
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safe work practices at all times.
Team Collaboration :
Work closely with the Crawl Space Foreman and other team members to complete projects on time and to the required standards.
Assist in the preparation and cleanup of job sites.
Client Interaction :
Communicate with clients as needed to explain work being performed and answer any questions. Provide excellent customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
Documentation :
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered. Complete any required paperwork or digital entries related to inspections, repairs, and maintenance.
Qualifications :
- Experience : No experience required but beneficial.
- Knowledge : Basic understanding of construction principles, moisture management, and pest control is beneficial.
- Skills : Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and good communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements : Ability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects, and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
Working Conditions :
- Work primarily takes place in crawl spaces, which may involve tight and confined areas.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity levels, and potential hazards such as mold, pests, and structural damage.
