The Controls Engineer position's accountability includes programming PLC / HMI / Communication of any Kurita America system.
This position requires writing programs based on Control Narratives, I / O lists and electrical schematics.
Compensation : $75-100K / yr
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Keep on task to meet deadlines.
- PLC and HMI Program Development, FAT testing, Start-up and Troubleshooting.
- Develop I / O Lists from P&ID's.
- Review Customer System Specifications.
- Some travel required to perform troubleshooting, training and start-up support.
- Work with NES to provide programming support while they are at the customer's location.
- Actively participate in team's process improvement efforts to gain efficiencies.
- Ability to integrate the communication between PLC and DCS / SCADA systems.
- Ability to configure and scale connected devices for each system.
- Performance of other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley components.
- 2 year controls / electrical degree.
- Minimum 2 years programming experience (Allen Bradley preferred).
- Ability to extrapolate information from manufacturer's documents to configure devices.
- Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
- Background programming of water treatment systems is a plus.
Physical and Mental requirements : Being able to do the following in a safe and effective manner :
- Climbing, ascending, and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and industrial equipment, using feet and legs and / or hands and arms.
- Reaching and extending hands and arms in any direction.
- Standing and walking for sustained periods of time.
- Pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and stooping for sustained periods of time.
- Using upper extremities to move objects and equipment with steady force.
- Sometimes working in temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
