Amazon’s expanding Logistics products and services (e.g. Amazon Logistics, Global Specialty Fulfillment, and Last Mile Technology) are creating new customer segments, including drivers, recipients, shippers, property managers, global sellers and storage owners.
Shipping & Delivery Support (SDS) is a customer service organization dedicated to providing support for these new customer segments.
The SDS organization is looking for a talented, motivated, self-directed Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Operations Analytics team.
As a Business Intelligence Engineer in the Delivery Experience, you will generate insights that will guide operational excellence and product development for our customers and internal stakeholders.
Data analysis is at the core of Amazon’s culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for our team.
You will be gathering insights from customers and operations teams, mining data, making recommendations, and helping leaders across our organization make key business decisions.
You will have the opportunity to work with a large and complex data warehouse to gather insights using data from across Amazon.
These efforts will change the way we support our internal operations teams and ultimately will lead to developing solutions to delight customers, and solve logistical challenges at an Amazon scale.
We are looking for someone with a broad technical background in data analytics, strong business acumen, takes ownership of their work, and is focused on customer needs.
The successful candidate will communicate crisply in non-technical terms to senior management. They will have an ability to make data-driven conclusions and will be comfortable with ambiguity while working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
The candidate will also need to be a collaborator who can work with multiple internal teams to define and implement solutions that will yield benefits to Amazon customers around the world.
Key job responsibilities
Build a data structure and reporting process by working through various business parameters, which establish truth in data.
Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to help determine key business conclusions.
Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting, analysis, and research (data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation).
Update existing and create new metrics and reporting that help drive business conclusions, continually improving reporting and analysis processes.
Be able to effectively communicate findings and build reporting for an audience with limited technical background.
Understand the business challenges and identify data-driven business insights with effective presentation of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders.
Design and conduct experiments on the effectiveness and efficiency of different initiatives to improve key output metrics and help shape the long-term strategy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
