Summary of Job Duties : Evening shift with flexible hours 2-3 days per week
The MLS I position is an entry-level position within the Blood Bank department. This position is responsible for performance of high complexity testing, and assisting with day-to-day operations.
This position will also focus on improving patient outcomes by performing advanced blood banking techniques, dispensing blood and blood components, and educating students.
This position will provide direct patient care by supplying the patient with appropriate blood components as determined by accurate testing to ensure the patient receives the appropriate blood components.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences or Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, or other related discipline.
- Must obtain applicable ASCP certification within 1 year of becoming eligible for certification.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
- Previous clinical laboratory experience- preferably in transfusion / blood bank laboratory.
