The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional service in a fine dining setting by working with the existing staff as a team.
We are located in the District of Resorts World.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tables for service by ensuring all tables, chairs, and settings are clean and polished.
- Prepare the restaurant for service by stocking appropriate server stations including coffee & tea, to-go items, bread & butter station, and beverage station.
- Greet guests upon arrival and ensure that their dining experience is tailored to their preferences.
- Provide detailed descriptions of menu items including food, specialty cocktails, spirits, and wines and providing recommendations / pairings when possible.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all menus while following the appropriate fine dining etiquette.
- Deliver exceptional service by taking accurate food and drink orders and relaying to the back of house and bar in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with the back of house by clearing dishes of food and placing them in a neat and orderly manner in the dish area.
- Work collaboratively with chefs to ensure that the restaurant is fully stocked with the necessary items for service.
- Work collaboratively with casino staff to ensure excellent service of VIPs.
- Maintain tables throughout service by fully clearing, wiping, and resetting for each course.
- Sanitize and maintain cleanliness of all areas including tabletops, chairs, service areas, and floors throughout service.
- Handle cash, credit, room, and casino comp charges with precision and accuracy.
- Maintain a warm and welcoming demeanor and ensure that all guests feel welcomed, respected, and well-taken care of.
- Respond promptly to any guest inquiries and address any issues that may arise.
- May be required to perform other duties / responsibilities as assigned by management.
Experience & Skills
- Previous 1 year experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of wines, beers, spirits, and cocktails.
- Strong knowledge of culinary terms, dishes, and beverage pairings.
- Ability to work well in a team environment as this position is part of a house tip pool.
- Ability to serve a table from start to finish without bussers or runners.
- Ability to monitor guest satisfaction and anticipate guest needs.
- Attention to detail and excellent table maintenance skills.
- Strong time management skills to be able to balance a 4 to 5 table section.
- Proficiency with POS systems, specifically Micros.
- Excellent guest service and hospitality skills, with a focus on providing an experience unique for every guest.
- Experience serving large tables / events.
- Knowledge of food & alcohol safety protocols.
- Knowledge to upsell menu items when possible.
- Must be able to work quickly and efficiently during busy periods. Experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
- Must be able to carry trays, hot plates, and glasses throughout dining room and back of house.
- Must be able to maintain a professional appearance deemed appropriate by Aqua Seafood & Caviar Restaurant’s policies.
