About This Role :
The Administrative Support Center (ASC) is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented accounting coordinator who excels at multitasking and customer service.
The accounting coordinator will act as a point of contact between the assigned ASC-supported departments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, and external parties, such as vendors.
This position will handle payment review and preparation, depositing, invoicing, monthly financial reporting, sales tax, grant post-award accounting, and resolving discrepancies.
To succeed as an accounting coordinator, you should possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
You should be ethical, thorough, and attentive with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Accounting Coordinator Responsibilities.
- Ensure timely payments of invoices and reimbursements.
- Issue invoices and ensure funds are collected and recorded.
- Making journal or ledger entries in the shadow accounting system. Preparing weekly, monthly, and yearly financial reports, as needed to support departments.
- Reconciliation, including identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Act as a point of contact between ASC-supported departments and central business units, serving as a liaison to answer questions about university policies and procedures.
- Staying current on the university, state, and federal financial regulations and policies.
Worksite Options :
This position is eligible for hybrid worksite. Work is performed partially remote and partially on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You'll Need to Succeed :
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree (Experience may be used in lieu of a degree as determined relevant by the hiring manager.)
- One year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications :
- 4 years experience in accounting, finance, or related field
- 4 years experience in professional accounting / auditing work
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and math skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency with computers, especially accounting software, strong typing skills
- High level of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency, especially when multitasking
