We are currently seeking a Manager, Credit & Collections.

This position is responsible for managing a team of associates in the efficient daily operations of the credit department and collections of unpaid balances on delinquent accounts.

Essential Job Functions :

• Develop systems and procedures to establish credit limits for customers and to control potential credit losses.
• Review and approve letters sent to clients to resolve payment issues.
• Review billing issues escalated by staff and resolve as appropriate.
• Establish collection policies and procedures. Train staff as necessary.
• Interview, hire, and counsel direct report employees. Delegate activities to appointed subordinates.
• Ensure that responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all subordinates are defined and understood.
• Manage preparation of documents to substantiate credit determination.
• Update credit files on existing customers.
• Resolve credit issues through the effective management of department staff.
• Create and update reports on credit related issues.
• Manage all staff personnel related issues, including scheduling, attendance, reviews, and disciplinary actions.
• Implement policies to reduce overall delinquency.
• Negotiate payment plans on delinquent accounts.
• Oversee the tracking of payments to ensure that all payment plans are paid per the terms of the agreement.
• Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Supportive Job Functions :

• Maintain current knowledge on credit regulations.
• Make escalated credit phone calls as needed.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
• These tasks do not meet the Americans with Disabilities Act definition of essential job functions and usually equal 5% or less of time spent.

However, these tasks still constitute important performance aspects of the job.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities :

• Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the company in an articulate, professional manner, while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
• Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to anticipate and quickly react in a dynamic business environment.
• Detailed knowledge of credit collection laws.
• Ability to understand needs of a multi-company environment.
• Skill in identifying and resolving problems.
• Ability to successfully manage and motivate staff.

Education, Experience, and Certification :

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
• 3 to 5 years previous relevant work experience is required.
• Minimum requirements needed to perform the job.
