The Job :

The receiver’s job at the Central Park Boathouse is to manage the shipping and receiving of merchandise or property. They are responsible for ensuring that inventory is accurate and efficiently processed.

Responsibilities include :

• Receiving shipments : Meeting with trucks daily to receive orders in a timely manner during their scheduled delivery windows
• Inspecting shipments : Checking for damages, inaccuracies, bad or missing product, and verifying all shipments
• Sorting and storing shipments : Staging loading and unloading areas, loading the coolers and storage areas using proper FIFO procedures
• Maintaining records : Keeping track of invoices and recording deliveries
• Monitoring inventory : Restocking shelves as needed and placing orders for more inventory or shipping supplies when needed
• Coordinating with other departments : Reading planograms and setting up store displays to maximize sales, and ensuring products are available to the retail team
• Reporting issues : Contacting suppliers to resolve shipping issues

Responsibilities :

Receive Deliveries : Accurately receive and inspect all incoming deliveries to ensure they meet our quality standards.

Verify the quantity and quality of items against purchase orders and delivery invoices.

Put Away Product : Organize and store products efficiently using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method to maintain freshness and reduce waste.

Ensure all items are stored in their designated areas and at the proper temperatures.

• Coding Invoices : Accurately code and process invoices for delivered goods. Ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate, and report any discrepancies to the purchasing manager or relevant department.
• Inventory Management : Assist with regular inventory checks and help maintain accurate stock levels.
• Maintain Cleanliness : Keep the receiving area clean, organized, and free from obstructions. Adhere to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications :

• Prior experience in a receiving or similar role, preferably in the food service industry.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and handling practices.
• Familiarity with the FIFO method and invoice processing.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
