POSITION DESCRIPTION

This is a work-from-home position with the periodic travel requirement to a physical storage unit in central Phoenix, AZ within a reasonable time frame.

Under the direction of the Director of Network Operations, the System Administrator is primarily responsible for configuring and managing both the physical company assets and virtual servers that include Application Servers, File Serves, and Databases.

In addition, the Systems Administrator manages the LAN / WAN Networks, Active Directory, Information Security Systems, Storage Area Networks, and provides Network / Desktop Support and escalation assistance for the helpdesk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cloud Administration O365, Azure, AWS, Google Workspace :
  • Administration of Azure and AWS Assets including Windows / Linux virtual machines, firewalls, virtual network infrastructure, file services, storage accounts, and related cloud assets.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions.
  • Configure and maintain mailboxes, shared mailboxes, and email security settings.
  • Administer SharePoint Online and OneDrive, including site creation, configuration, and management.
  • Identity and Access Management :

o Configure and manage user identities, authentication, and authorization across applications and resources.

  • Implement and manage identity governance, including policies for data loss prevention (DLP), eDiscovery, and retention.
  • System Monitoring and Troubleshooting :

o Provide administration, support, and maintenance as required.

o Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues using tools like the Microsoft 365 admin center and PowerShell scripts.

o Manage VOIP Solution Management through Zoom phone system

  • Manage Windows Server Operating Systems, Linux servers, Office365, IIS, Antivirus, Applications, and cloud solutions including SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS.
  • Security and Compliance :
  • Create and manage IT Security Policies and annual user security awareness and related training.

o Plan and execute migrations, updates, and integrations with other systems.

o Manage anti-virus and malware detection, analysis and remediation, including installation, configuration and support for anti-virus software.

o Perform regular patching of servers, computers, laptops and applications, as well as other third party software.

  • Research and recommends hardware and software technologies; implements and manages standards across the environment.
  • Disaster Recovery :
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery plans.
  • Perform backup and recovery tasks.
  • General Duties :
  • Create documentation on troubleshooting steps and supports instructions for internal IT and end users.
  • Gathers system requirements to improve end-user experience.
  • Installs new equipment including new user setup / configuration as required
  • Performs physical inventory and asset management.
  • Liaisons with third party service providers when necessary.
  • Stays current with the latest hardware and software technologies.
  • Provides limited on-call and after hours support for all employees, both local and remote.

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as System Administrator.
  • A+, Net+, Security+ Certification
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), and Microsoft 365 services.
  • General knowledge of MSSQL / MySQL statements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MCSA equivalent certifications preferred.
  • AZ-900 Certification preferred.
  • AWS Technical Essentials certification preferred.
  • Experience with Diverse Operating Systems (Microsoft Windows, Linux, RHEL, etc.) as well as serverless solutions.
  • Knowledge of JSON preferred.
  • Knowledge and management of SQL / MySQL databases, queries and RDBMS concepts (database schemas, views, stored procedures, T-SQL, and data extracts).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

This position requires sitting for extended periods of time. Occasionally requires standing, squatting, reaching and bending.

Requires ability to receive information through oral communication both in-person and on telephone. Manual dexterity needed for using computer keyboard.

Must have adequate vision to operate computer and complete paperwork. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional work-from-home environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as assigned laptop computer, docking station, monitors, mouse, keyboard, etc.

We also have a physical storage unit that may be required to travel to for sending / receiving equipment as necessary from remote users.
