We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager, for the Inbound Planning and Execution (IPEX) Performance team. The Senior Supply Chain Manager role on the IPEX Performance team will focus on our Warehouse Transfers (WHT) network speed and will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating initiatives in support of the WHT Performance Framework.
The individual in this role will work cross functionally with stakeholders across Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT), Middle Mile Partner Manager (MMPM), IXD-Programs, and Amazon Freight to identify and remove bottlenecks within the Transfers network.
The Senior Supply Chain Manager supports the development and implementation the for Transfers Performance management, establishes the realistic and actionable performance glidepath, and guides cross-functional teams towards executing and supporting that vision.
They are accountable for developing mechanisms to identify and correct performance defects across each segment of the Transfers Network, such as, at inbound cross-dock (IXD), in transit, and at fulfillment center (FC).
The role will partner with internal stakeholders (Carrier Services, Middle Mile Partner Management, Strategic Carrier Management, Amazon Freight and Supply Chain Optimization to align on goals and initiatives that support Transfers Performance.
They are expected to spend the majority of their time building the programmatic approach to action and resolve performance defects across the WHT journey of getting inventory through and out of the initial IXD, through Transit Time, and finally delivered and received at the final FC.
The individual is not responsible for the execution of inbound shipments but will need to drive results through mechanisms that address 1P and 3P Carrier Performance defects, as well as IXD performance as it relates to speed of the WHT network.
The individual will work closely with IPEX Control Tower, Inbound War Room, and Network Orchestration to operationalize metrics and mechanisms that support improving the speed of WHT inventory from the IXD to the FC where it becomes sellable to customers.
Key job responsibilities
Help develop a strategic roadmap for continuous improvement, quality processes, and reporting and metrics that support the total cost management program;
enable streamlining to achieve operational excellence, bench-marking, and development and tracking of cost management key performance metrics and lessons learned
- Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions
- Partner with teams across the business you support and beyond to source, allocate, and coordinate resources
- Partner with customers, internal / external teams, and engineering teams to determine what projects move forward and in what priority order
- Oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems, helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g., requirements not sufficiently understood or documented, ineffective cross-team collaboration, long-term impact(s) from third-party solutions, security not considered, insufficient stakeholder review, etc.)
- Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks)
- Work with program managers, business leaders and executive team to communicate and impact critical business initiatives
- Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers
A day in the life
Each day is Day 1 with the IPEX Performance team! The Senior Supply Chain Manager role on the IPEX team supports the mid and long-term strategy for performance improvement in the Transfers Network.
The individual in this role is responsible for supporting the transfers performance management strategy and managing the complex cross-functional performance framework impacting over 10B inbound units annually.
The individual has a strategic scope while also retaining the required level of tactical management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical / IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
- Experience with SQL

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
