Small Business Consultant - International Trade

Essential Duties

  • Develop strategies to improve and develop international selling and purchasing processes of the company.
  • Provide services for companies with export needs to find customers in the global market, establish and develop basic processes for selling products and services.
  • Research suppliers that offer products and services in the global market with the most affordable quality and prices.
  • Provide consultancy on international business development and marketing issues.
  • Research the foreign financial markets in which the consultancy company operates or is planning to do business.
  • Research international investment opportunities, competitors, and business practices, analyze the collected data, and make recommendations to the companies that they provide consultancy.
  • Communicate with foreign companies that the consulting company will export or import, to continue negotiations to start or develop trade.
  • Analyze globally demanded goods and services.
  • Compare the product range of the evolving company with the products of competitors and global trends.
  • Provide control and consultancy services regarding the documentation processes required in the export and import phase, customs, and transportation processes.
  • Advise companies on compliance with legal regulations regulating import and export.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of international trade.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, experience in establishing economic development, community, and business relationships.
  • Experience in advising small businesses.
  • Experience delivering business presentations on a variety of topics in a public setting to diverse audiences.
  • Program and / or product development experience; and / or work experience with manufacturing and / or technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with staff, faculty, students, College officials, clients, government agency(s), business resources, trade / civic associations, and the general public.
  • Computer skills with working knowledge of various software packages.

EDUCATION :

Minimum Bachelor's degree in a business-related field, or equivalent experience in business management or financial analysis (minimum four years), or bachelor’s degree in any field with either two years of business management or business ownership.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Prolonged sitting in front of computer. Walking, talking, hearing, pulling, bending, may carry 10-15 pounds of objects / material, not exposed to extreme noise level, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, taste or smell.
