Job Summary
To perform modification and structural repairs on experimental, production and fielded aircraft. Including
repair of severely damaged aircraft and / or completion of heavy modifications. Performs functional checks
of aircraft pressurization systems including pilot oxygen and oxygen generating systems. Troubleshoots
aircraft flight controls, mechanical components and subsystems.
Job Responsibilities :
Plans and performs standard operations to identify and correct malfunctioning Textron Aviation
mechanical components and systems and perform aircraft modification work. Requires thorough
knowledge of aircraft, mechanical systems and components.
o Performs operational checks / functional tests on a variety of complex aircraft assemblies
and systems, landing gear systems, flight control systems, hydraulic systems,
pressurization systems, aircraft plumbing systems, and optional equipment installations.
o Removes and reinstalls a variety of engine components and accessory items such as oil
coolers, pressure switches, pumps, generators, hydraulic and vacuum pumps, and
electrical wiring. Works with Technical Representatives and Engineering to resolve
problems on structural components, mechanical and airframe systems.
o Removes and installs primary and secondary flight controls. Performs aircraft mechanical
systems rigging.
o Performs modification work on aircraft systems, structures and accessories involving
disassembly, assembly, installation, adjustment and rework performs minor upholstery
and touchup type paint work.
o Independently troubleshoots and performs complex heavy modifications and repairs to
severely damaged aircraft.
May conduct or assist with functional checks, instrument tests, and preventative maintenance on
various models of Textron Aviation aircraft. May conduct and assist with engine ground runs.
- May be required to observe fit and operation of structure and mechanical systems during flight.
- Uses equipment to operate and functional test various aircraft systems, and a variety of hand
tools to repair or modify systems or assemblies. Maintains clean working area.
Responsible for guiding and instructing 1-5 lower classification mechanics 50% or more of the
time.
Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications
Education :
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.
Requires the use of arithmetic, blueprints and specifications plus a knowledge of aircraft engine
principles.
Can interpret and work to modification drawings, STCs (Supplemental Type Certificates) and / or
engineering instructions without assistance.
Experience :
Requires a minimum of 3 years diversified aircraft modification and service experience.
Working Conditions :
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to non-continuous exposure to noise, weather, fuel, and
other liquids as necessary
