Senior Financial Analyst - Portfolio Reporting

Seeking a Financial Analyst Portfolio Reporting to work within the Portfolio Management Division of a large-scale energy and sustainability loan program of a federal client.

Role provides industry level analysis of assets and portfolios that may impact individual portfolio loans outstanding and to ensure compliance with contractual, internal, and external standards.

Role may also involve contributing to the due diligence effort for new loan applications. The working location is Washington DC, although full time onsite support is not required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of portfolio reports advising management and staff about the ongoing status of the portfolio on project-specific issues relating to financial and operational risk factors;
  • Collect and synthesize data, news, industry reports, and financial metrics into comprehensive analytical reports on specific markets, companies and sectors;
  • Perform research and analysis to keep management and staff informed of industry-related developments that may impact current and anticipated portfolio technologies and finances;
  • Provide review and analysis of potential and proposed policies that may impact portfolio and project compliance and obligations;
  • Under supervision of management, draft Industry Sector Reports, Market Reports, Counterparty Reports, Monthly Portfolio Status Reports, Watch List, and Project Update Reports;
  • Perform quarterly data quality audits of Portfolio Management Division financial models;

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in energy sector are required, clean energy projects and markets preferred;
  • Experience working project finance or credit analysis is preferred;
  • BA / BS and 4 years experience or a Masters and 2 years experience;
  • Excellent written and oral skills are required, a writing sample will be requested;
  • Strong problem solving / analytical skills and detail-oriented;
  • Strong research and resourcefulness skills;
  • Attention to detail with work product and ability to present analysis to leadership;
  • Well organized, ability to properly prioritize, and adept at time management.
