Valentis Group, Inc. is hiring immediately! This position is for a contract directly with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and is responsible for the protection of government-managed property, Valentis is looking for a full-time armed security officer to work Monday - Friday, daytime hours.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for processing electronic access control requests
- Monitor CCTV and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) alarms
- Incident response
- Roving patrol
- Other tasks as needed to support the safety mission for the client
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must possess a valid Alabama Security Regulatory Board (ASRB) armed guard certification
- Be a minimum of 21 years of age; fluent in speaking, reading, comprehending, and writing English due to the nature of the position.
- Prior sworn law enforcement or military experience is preferred, but not required, or at minimum prior armed security experience is required.
- Must be able to pass a government background check and pass a drug screening
- Must be able to pass a Public Trust background check as required by DHS
- Must have a High School Diploma, or received a GED
- Must be able to complete Qualifying Readiness Standards (QRS) established by Valentis in defensive tactics, CPR / First Aid / AED, duty pistol, OC Pepper Spray, and expandable baton as well as other modules deemed necessary
- Must be able to pass a physical agility test, as deemed necessary
AVAILABLE SHIFTS : Monday-Friday, morning to afternoon hours. No overnight or weekend shifts are required unless an emergency has been declared.
This is a full-time position.
