Job Details
We are a small practice looking for a Trust & Estate Paralegal or legal assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working in estate planning and administration.
Responsibilities :
- Work closely with attorneys to prepare estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney;
- Conduct legal research on various topics related to trusts and estates;
- Draft legal correspondence and other documents related to estate administration;
- Assist with the management of estates, including collecting and inventorying assets, paying debts, fiduciary accountings;
and distributing assets to beneficiaries
- Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, and other parties involved in the estate administration process;
- Maintain accurate records and files related to estate planning and administration;
Draft and file pleadings in probate proceedings.
Qualifications :
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a trust and estate paralegal
Strong understanding of estate planning and administration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
Comfortable with surrogates court and litigation
