We have an exciting opportunity within the Compliance Shared Services (CoSS) organization's Product and Regulatory Compliance Services team to architect and build next generation engineering systems to protect and improve the customer and supplier experience using cutting edge technology including cloud computing services and highly available / scalable distributed systems.

As a Software Development Manager in this innovative team, you will be responsible for a software development team developing technology that ingests large volumes of inputs leading to understanding of compliance requirements, automates risk evaluation and drives automated and GenAI / LLM driven workflows that eventually to preserve and improve product quality and the end customer experience.

As the ideal candidate you will be experienced in managing a multi-discipline tech team, including front-end, back-end software engineers, and interfacing with technical program managers and other tech leaders across teams / organizations.

You will have a proven track record of shipping complex software solutions through an agile methodology. You will have the ability to dive deep into the understanding of problems in order to help your team make the right technical decisions for the product and the business.

You will have a proven track record of developing the career of your direct reports and setting a high bar for performance.

You will also be a strong communicator and will have proven abilities in managing through ambiguous situations. Specific responsibilities include the following :

  • Manage your group into a highly performing engineering organization.
  • Define and drive your long term product strategy based on your relationships with key customers and technology partners.
  • Architect and deliver Amazon's next-generation technology based shared services / capabilities to help solve Amazon's unique compliance challenges at scale.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 8+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 4+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software / hardware / networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring / coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
