As a Psychiatrist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

Daily Responsibilities :
- Prescribe, direct, or administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder;
- Order, analyze and evaluate patient data or test findings to diagnose nature or extent of mental disorder;
- Collaborate with an integrated team to discuss treatment plans and progress;
- Performs psychiatric assessments and evaluations;
- Design, execute or approve individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments;
- Prescribe and monitor medications and other treatments;
- Provides services using a combination of telephone, and video (telemental / telemedicine) as required / directed;
- Provides unscheduled and or emergency services as needed for walk-in, open-access, and / or crisis clients at any time during scheduled shift;
- Completes training and provides treatment using Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT) as part of an evidence-based integrated approach to delivering behavioral healthcare services;
- Provides services beyond scheduled shift as required to meet the needs of acute walk-in, open access, and / or crisis clients;
- Evaluate recipient progress and makes referrals as needed;
- Gather and maintain patient information and records;
- Document all services within twenty-four hours of the date of a client's visit and in accordance with state / federal guidelines and policies and procedure;
- Participate in care planning and coordination meetings to facilitate care process as requested. As assigned, sees individuals who are an immediate crisis to curtail emergency visits and / or inpatient admissions;
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities;
- Maintains client confidentiality and confidential health information;
- Participates in meetings as scheduled;
- Signs clinical treatment plans as required;
- Meets or exceeds the then current individual billable units of service requirement;
- Additional duties as assigned.
Your skills and qualifications :
- Current and valid board certification in psychiatry
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency
- Licensed to practice medicine in state of practice
- Current DEA registration
- Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria
- Training and experience in providing Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT) preferred
- Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques
- Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Extensive knowledge with PC applications and electronic medical records strongly preferred.
