About the Construction Controller opportunity : We are seeking an experienced and qualified Construction Controller to join this team and play a pivotal role in the latest project in Bermuda.
The Construction Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of this high-value project, ensuring financial controls, and supporting the successful execution of the construction contract.
This would be a paid relocation for the 2 year project with housing / transportation paid OR traveling to and from Bermuda two weeks of the month.
Key Responsibilities of the Construction Controller :
- Manage and oversee the financial operations of the $90 million construction project in Bermuda, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and financial regulations.
- Work closely with project managers and senior management to provide accurate financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
- Implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures to monitor project costs, revenue, and overall financial performance.
- Monitor and analyze project financial data to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for cost-saving measures.
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, and financial statements for senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external auditors, lenders, and other financial institutions as needed.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial and accounting systems for the project.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and financial reporting requirements in Bermuda.
- Manage cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for the construction project.
- Provide financial guidance and support for decision-making processes related to the project.
- Oversee the financial team and coordinate with other departments to ensure alignment with project goals.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller in construction or real estate industry, with a track record of managing large-scale projects.
- Familiarity with international accounting standards and Bermuda tax regulations is a plus.
