The Department of Applied Engineering, Safety & Technology in the College of Science & Technology welcomes applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor position beginning August .
Responsibilities include teaching, advising students, scholarly or creative work and department and university service. Actual assignments will depend upon department needs.
The Technology and Engineering Education position in Applied Engineering, Safety & Technology includes teaching courses focused on the preparation of technology and engineering teachers and one or more of the following technical areas computer-aided drafting and design (CADD), construction, production / manufacturing.
Other expectations of the position include the performance of professional responsibilities such as serving on committees and advising students and continuing scholarly growth and professional development activities.
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications as well as aligned with the details contained in the .
Minimum qualifications required to be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate include having an earned doctorate and a minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience (or its equivalent) and scholarship commensurate with this rank.

Preferred Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in such fields as technology and engineering education, industrial technology, technology management, or education related areas such as curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or a related discipline.
- Documented effective post-secondary teaching or training experience.
- Documented K-12 teaching experience in technology and engineering education, technology education, STEM education, or related disciplines.
- Documented effective professional and / or industrial experience.
- Experience in supervising, maintaining, and improving laboratory facilities.
- Commitment to involvement in and support of student organizations.
- Experience writing grant proposals.
- Experience conducting and / or supervising research and development or other scholarly activities.
- Interest in teaching graduate-level courses.
