Overview
This role primarily supports the Rancho Dominguez, CA facility and offers periodic / limited support of Repligen facilities in Simi Valley and Anaheim, CA.
Travel between the sites is required on a periodic basis.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities :
- Provide direction and support to a safe work environment through behavioral based safety, safety interactions, human performance principles, hazard identification / elimination, work practice controls, employee engagement and other company safety tools and initiatives.
- Embody the Repligen Environmental Safety & Health culture.
- Manage development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of safety programs, compliance plans, and safety initiatives.
Track progress and create actions plans to achieve goals for continuous improvement.
- Develop, present, track and own formal EHS training programs.
- Ensure all facility management and appropriate operational personnel are aware of current and pending regulatory requirements, permit conditions, and other restrictions imposed by authorities.
- Serve as Emergency Response Coordinator for the Rancho Domingues facility, assisting with the coordination of emergency services and contractors.
- Act as liaison between employees, facility management, and federal, state, & local regulatory agencies.
- Conduct, facilitate, train and / or transfer to qualified EHS inspections and assessments to assure compliance with internal / external requirements.
- Maintain records and data necessary to prepare internally or externally required reports. Respond to agency requests. Prepare and submit timely reports and responses to informational requests.
- Conduct and facilitate incident investigations, including root cause analysis, to determine corrective actions. Train personnel on EHS reporting procedure and proper documentation.
- Support all mandatory air, water, waste compliance assurance-monitoring activities at the facility.
- Provide industrial hygiene support as needed to evaluate employee noise and other health exposures.
- Travel to other regional Repligen sites as needed to support and collaborate on EH&S program
- Act as chair of site EHS Committee.
- Manage site metrics related to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) expectations and work collaboratively with site leadership to drive progress.
Qualifications
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety / Health, Environmental Sciences or related field.
- 5 or more years of EHS experience. Must have thorough knowledge of and experience with OSHA / Cal OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Experience with environmental permitting (air, waste water, etc.) and industrial hygiene preferred.
- Experience in life sciences or chemical manufacturing industry preferred.
- Experienced in developing and managing EH&S programs, including but not limited to LOTO, Electrical Safety, HazCom, Powered Industrial Truck Safety, Contactor Safety Management, etc.
- Must have excellent verbal, written skills and interpersonal skills along with ability to make presentations comfortably and professionally to large groups.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Must be self-motivated and capable of leading teams to drive program improvements.
- Demonstrate effective decision making and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must demonstrate leadership capabilities and be able to work collaboratively with all levels of the site operations.
