Job Summary :
The Mortgage Funder, Post Closer, and Doc Drawer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing the documentation necessary for the funding and closing of mortgage loans.
This position ensures the accurate and timely processing of loan documents, coordinates with title companies, and ensures all post-closing documentation complies with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Document Preparation (Doc Drawer) :
- Prepare accurate and complete mortgage loan documents for closing.
- Ensure all documents comply with company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Verify information in the loan origination system to ensure it matches loan documents.
- Coordinate with loan officers, processors, and title companies to address any discrepancies or missing information.
- Loan Funding :
- Review closing documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Verify funding conditions have been met prior to disbursement.
- Coordinate with title companies and settlement agents to schedule and execute loan fundings.
- Prepare wire transfers or checks for loan funding.
- Post-Closing Duties :
- Review and organize closed loan files to ensure all necessary documents are included.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Follow up on any outstanding post-closing documentation or corrections needed.
- Submit closed loan packages to investors or custodians in a timely manner.
- Documentation and Compliance :
- Ensure all loan files are accurate and complete, adhering to company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations, guidelines, and procedures.
- Assist in resolving any post-closing issues or discrepancies.
- Communication and Coordination :
- Liaise with loan officers, processors, title companies, and investors to facilitate smooth funding and closing processes.
- Provide timely updates and responses to internal and external stakeholders.
- Address and resolve any funding, document preparation, or post-closing related inquiries.
- Record Keeping and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate records of all prepared documents, funded loans, and post-closing activities.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on document preparation, funding, and post-closing metrics.
- Participate in audits and quality control reviews as required.
Qualifications :
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field preferred.
- Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage document preparation, funding, post-closing, or related mortgage operations.
- Skills :
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in mortgage software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge :
- Understanding of mortgage loan document preparation, funding, and post-closing processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines.
