The Investment Performance Team in Nuveen's Global Investment Operations organization prepares performance calculations, reporting, Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) compliant presentations, performance attribution, portfolio analytics and other related deliverables for Nuveen's investment book of record.

The reporting and analysis produced by the team is used by portfolio management, marketing, client service, compliance, and other areas across the enterprise to inform investment decisions and strategy, support client retention efforts and promote new business growth.

Within the Investment Performance team, the GIPS Compliance team owns Nuveen's composite performance function, including composite maintenance and GIPS compliance.

The team broadly supports Nuveen's investment management business with subject matter expertise and provides marketing, sales, and client-facing functions with investment strategy performance advertisement capabilities in alignment with the GIPS Standards.

The successful candidate will :

  • Demonstrate proficiency in investment performance analysis concepts including application of the GIPS standards and industry best practices for composite maintenance and calculation
  • Exhibit ownership and accountability for completing all deliverables timely and accurately
  • Communicate effectively within the team, project groups and business partner and stakeholder communities
  • Build productive working relationships with colleagues and contribute to a positive culture
  • Be highly organized and adaptable to support change in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Analyze investment strategy performance results and ensure compliance with GIPS Standards
  • Create and maintain composite presentations and other reports to support recurring and ad hoc requests according to business requirements
  • Investigate and answer questions from internal stakeholders related to composite calculations and implementation of the GIPS Standards
  • Build and maintain constructive working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Escalate risks promptly and participate in resolution actions
  • Contribute to the upkeep of procedural documentation
  • Identify improvements to create scale, reduce risk and add value
  • Participate in cross-functional working groups and project teams
  • Support a productive, satisfying team environment consistent with Nuveen's culture and ethics principles

Educational Requirements

University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

2+ Years Required; 3+ Years Preferred

Career Level

Minimum Requirements :

  • 2+ years of experience in GIPS compliance reporting and calculation functions
  • Strong working knowledge of GIPS compliance and / or implementation practices
  • Strong working knowledge of investment performance calculation, reporting, and / or analysis fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience using Eagle PACE performance calculation and reporting capabilities

Base Pay Range : $24.75 / hr. - $48.13 / hr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.

In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
