This Senior Director role is part of a corporate wide Operational Excellence (OE) Transformation and will be involved in leading and further developing the Lonza OE Center of Excellence for the Cell & Gene Technologies & Bioscience Business Units.
The role will collaborate with Lonza senior leadership in implementing and sustaining the Lonza Business Management System (LBMS) across the Division (LBMS is Lonza's platform to improve operational excellence across our global business).
As Head of OE your role will be to support the sites within your region and division on their journey towards excellence and to ensure steady progress with their improvement initiatives and level of lean maturity.
The incumbent will also be responsible for the roll-out of global OE initiatives at your sites and the regular coaching and mentoring of the employees there to support lean behaviors and leadership.
This role has the option to be 80-100%
Key responsibilities :
- Driving and improving results by leveraging lean tools, consulting skills, and change management process and take primary responsibility for implementation of lean initiatives within manufacturing plants and its associated value streams.
- Coach and trainer for the organization in innovation projects and train white-, yellow-, green-and Back-belts certification of Lean Experts, Continuous Improvement Specialists, Supervisors, Operators and Managers.
- Challenging and supporting site and divisional management to drive a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Creating long term activity roadmaps and lean transformation projects for the business including Kaizen and step change projects.
- Creating common / standard library of systems and tools supporting single OE strategy.
Key requirements :
- Master Degree Science, Engineering, Business or relevant field
- Previous successful experience as Site OE head on a large manufacturing site or for a network of sites
- Lean Practitioner and certified Black Belt is a must, GMP know how will be an advantage
- Intensive experiences in Lean Transformation and Lean Change management
- Strong skills in providing Lean Six Sigma Training and Coaching will be an advantage
- Experience gathering, analyzing and understanding divergent ambiguous data and ability to formulate hypothesis and translate into actionable plans
- Strong strategic thinking capability, comfortable with quantitative and qualitative skills and creative problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and interaction with all kinds of internal and external interfaces
- Fluency in English, other languages will be an advantage
