Overview :

PMCS Group is seeking a highly experienced Safety Manager to join our team in support of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) construction program.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction safety, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects across different sites and stages.

Minimum Required Qualifications :

• 10+ years of experience in construction safety.
• 5+ years managing multiple projects at different stages of construction across multiple job sites.
• 5+ years of field experience as a Construction Safety Consultant with General Contractors and Subcontractors.
• 5+ years of experience working with OCIP and DSA.
• 5+ years of experience in Safety Management for public sector construction.
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Current OSHA 500 (Trainer in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction).
• Valid First Aid / CPR / AED certification.
• Valid Safety Management Specialist (SMS) or Certified Safety Manager Construction (CSMC) certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications :

• Degree in construction management, safety management, safety engineering, or related field.
• Experience with modernization projects involving asbestos and lead-based paint.
• Extensive knowledge in senior safety management with large building programs across multiple sites.
• Additional safety and health certifications relevant to the role.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee construction activities to ensure contractor compliance with regulatory and contractual safety requirements.
• Conduct daily safety reviews of on-site work in progress, adhering to OSHA and BuildLACCD Safety Regulations and SOPs.
• Monitor and enforce Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) compliance.
• Provide support to the Program Safety Manager, attend meetings, and prepare safety reports / analysis as needed.
• Lead safety discussions during construction meetings and report on site observations.
• Conduct ongoing site safety inspections and generate daily and weekly safety reports.
• Review and ensure the accuracy of contractor safety submittals and plans (e.g., JHA, MOP, Fall Protection, Crane Lift, etc.).
• Participate in safety stand-downs and submit lessons learned.
• Conduct safety orientations and enforce zero-tolerance and corrective action policies for non-compliance.
• Travel to and manage safety compliance at multiple construction sites across the Greater Los Angeles area.
