GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW
Inside Sales Representative sell to clients in an office environment mostly through phone calls / emails following up sales leads and occasional cold callings.
Representative staff work in concert with Account Executives to secure business. As an inside sales rep, you might make your sales by phone, email, or video chat.
Once you make a sale, you'll be responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with our customers. Inside sales specialists play a crucial role in driving sales and maintaining customer relationships.
Individuals in this group must be dynamic, balancing various facets of their workload through strong organization skills and effectively prioritizing short and long-term tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / DUTIES
- Find new customers by following up on leads or making cold calls
- Conduct research on potential customers and Maintain customer database and sales records
- Address customer questions and concerns via email / phone mostly with occasional face-to-face meetings
- Use communication and negotiation skills to close sales
- Achieve Inside Sales KPI / quotas set by regional management
- Create, amend, update and review service contracts along with the main service contract holders
- Collaboratively work with pricing / trade to ensure pricing / rates are properly updated
- Detailed review of other operating system menu to assist with customers and solve problems / issues
- Follow through with rate inquiries & new opportunities and ensure right parties are involved
- Follow through with pending issues to ensure they come to conclusion
- Assist with daily reports for Account Executives to ensure no opportunities are lost
- Explaining and demonstrating features of services provided to customers
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Good organizational & research skills
- A strong business acumen, willingness to assist customers with positive attitude
- Good problem-solving skills and being detailed-oriented
- Should understand dynamics of basic negotiations
- Outstanding knowledge of MS office; knowledge of CRM and other TMS software is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- College degree preferred but not required / Basic understanding of business and sales / marketing is essential
- Prefers at least 1-3 years of any ocean, supply-chain management, or global logistics experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- knowledge of ocean shipping on either import or export
