Job Summary : The Shelton School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team.
The SLP will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
This role is essential in helping students improve their communication skills and achieve success in school and beyond.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and treatment plans.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students' goals and objectives.
- Provide training and support to teachers and staff on speech and language development strategies.
Qualifications :
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Connecticut state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Connecticut Educator Certification with an endorsement in Speech and Language Pathology (Endorsement Code : 061).
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements :

- Compliance with state and federal regulations for special education.
