Summary

We are in search of a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) / Project Land Surveyor to contribute to the growth of our Survey Group in Central Iowa.

In this role, your primary focus will involve executing land surveying tasks for diverse projects. These projects may include residential and commercial subdivisions, roadway and municipal improvements, plats, and legal descriptions, among others.

As the supervisory Iowa Registered Professional Land Surveyor, you will collaborate with HR Green project managers, engineers, clients, and contractors.

As a licensed professional, the RPLS represents the company, delivering technically sound products that surpass client expectations.

This role requires completing assigned tasks with minimal direction from the Group Leader or Project Manager, with involvement in project management, and client communication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Conduct or supervise research of public records in relation to land surveys.
  • Conduct or supervise field surveys associated with land surveys.
  • Supervise preparation of easement descriptions and easement plats.
  • Generate legal descriptions and prepare plats for land surveys, and subdivision platting.
  • Oversee various surveying functions, including topography surveys and construction surveys.
  • Proactively identify and address technical, schedule, or financial issues through effective communication with the Project Manager or other management staff.
  • Participate in the preparation of engineering services proposals, including calculating / estimating time schedules and costs of proposed work.
  • Independently communicate on technical matters with the client.

Education / Experience :

  • Minimum of five years or more of experience in land surveying.
  • Advanced knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, etc.), CADD software, and other engineering automation tools.
  • Capability to operate technical analysis equipment and computer equipment correctly after receiving training.
  • Strong technical verbal and writing skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical literature and engineering plans.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering / land surveying knowledge to solve assigned tasks and activities.

Education / Experience :

  • Minimum of five years or more of experience in land surveying.
  • Advanced knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, etc.), CADD software, and other engineering automation tools.
  • Capability to operate technical analysis equipment and computer equipment correctly after receiving training.

Certificates and Licenses

Must have received a professional Land Surveyor license from the applicable state in which he / she will operate. Must possess a valid state driver's license and must be able to drive a vehicle.
