Job Overview : A legal recruiting firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney on behalf of an international law firm with a focus on insurance law.
This hybrid role, based in Chicago, involves representing clients in first-party property insurance disputes. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of litigation experience, particularly in insurance defense or insurance coverage.
The role offers the opportunity to manage complex cases, engage in courtroom proceedings, and collaborate with a dynamic legal team.
Duties :
- Draft coverage opinions and handle litigation involving insurance coverage and bad faith cases.
- Manage cases from start to finish, including drafting motions, responding to discovery requests, and taking depositions.
- Represent clients in court proceedings and mediations.
- Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal arguments and presentations.
- Collaborate with clients to build strong relationships and ensure effective communication throughout the legal process.
- Potential for occasional travel as required by case demands.
Requirements :
- 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on insurance defense or insurance coverage.
- Experience in drafting coverage opinions, litigating insurance coverage disputes, and handling bad faith cases.
- Strong case management skills, including motion practice, discovery, and depositions.
- Excellent research, writing, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Active membership in the Illinois Bar.
Education :
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications :
Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.
Skills :
- Proficient in legal research, drafting, and case management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines effectively.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
