Dewberry is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2025 to join our Bloomfield, NJ office.

Responsibilities :

The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges (primarily of steel and concrete construction), and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other ancillary structures).

The candidate will also be exposed to the development of contract plans, the preparation of engineer's estimates and construction specifications, and performing construction support services.

Required Skills & Required Experience :

Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering (with emphasis in Structural Engineering) is required.

Previous internship experience preferred.

Experience using CADD (Microstation or AutoCAD preferred).

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Desire to work in a team environment.

Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action.

Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.

Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business.

Learning about our services, projects, and clients.

Professional development workshops, including a career planning workshop and a DiSC assessment to learn more about themselves and how to work effectively with others.

Summer-long group project where interns work alongside firm leaders to address issues that will impact our future strategy.
