Training Specialist - MFG Production, Project Kuiper

DescriptionProject Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO).

Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

This role is within the Kuiper Learning & Development MFG Production Team and partners with internal teams to collaborate to contribute to develop the strategy and execution of the New Hire Orientation program and external vendor training program for hourly Kuiper new hires in Production and Operations.

You will be responsible for delivery and facilitation of these programs while measuring success and implementing best practices for continued improvement of both programs.

Success in this role requires a proactive and detailed-orientated approach and enthusiasm for creating a positive culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Key job responsibilitiesNew Hire Orientation (NHO) Program Overview and Key Responsibilities - NHO is a structured onboarding program designed to introduce new employees to Kuiper’s mission and Amazon culture, general and organizational training, provide general safety and HR general policies and procedure.

Our goal is to equip new hires with the necessary knowledge and resources to integrate smoothly into their role in a positive and impactful way.

Oversee the New Hire Onboarding (NHO) Program : Ensure effective onboarding of hourly production and operations employeesExecute the NHO process and facilitate engaging NHO sessionsManage the logistics of the NHO program, including scheduling and tracking training completionTriage issues that arise during the NHO training processGather feedback to continuously improve the NHO programContribute to Training Materials and Resources : Develop and maintain training materials, presentations, and resources for new hires using tools like Confluence, PowerPoint, and video editing softwareDetermine communication strategies, delivery methods, and timing of communications to new employees and their managersCollaborate with Internal Partners : Build strong relationships with HR, Talent Acquisition, and EHS teams to achieve successful NHODefine program success metrics and communicate achievements and areas for improvementOversee the External Vendor Training Program : Coordinate with specialized vendors to provide hands-on training and safety equipment operations for employeesManage the vendor facilitation process, including scheduling, logistics, and triaging issuesIdentify opportunities for program improvement and drive efficienciesMaintain records of training activities and program outcomes in the LMSGeneral Responsibilities : Maintain up-to-date records and utilize a Learning Management System (LMS)Work with internal and external individuals to present and facilitate training sessionsExecute Jira ticketing system processesNavigate Amazon processes as neededExport Control Requirement : Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.

Basic Qualifications3+ years of experience managing personnel programs or customer facing projects3+ years of experience delivering cross-functional trainings to both technical and non-technical audiences2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment3+ years of experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS) to perform standard administrative functions (i.

e. assigning, tracking, creating trainings)3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite3+ years of experience collecting and analyzing data for continuous program improvement and metrics reporting.

Preferred QualificationsExperience in aerospace, automotive, medical or comparable industryExperience leveraging technology to develop and improve processesExperience and comfort utilizing teleconference toolsProven ability to identify, analyze, and solve ambiguous problemsAbility to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-moving business environmentProficient using Atlassian productivity tool like Confluence and Jira.

The base pay for this position ranges from $58,300 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $113,400 / year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
