Responsibilities
The Nuclear Medicine Tech is a healthcare specialty that requires a keen interest in computer technology and using radioactive medicine to treat disease.
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a highly specialized professional who works closely with the nuclear medicine physician, which involves the following : preparing and administering radioactive chemical compounds, performing patient-imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instruments, accomplishing computer processing and image enhancement;
also analyzing biologic specimens in the laboratory, as well as providing images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation as well as assisting in developing an appropriate care plan for each patient.
Qualifications
- Valid BLS
- Candidates must have a valid professional license within the state of practice
- Specialty related certifications are preferred and may be required for specific allied healthcare positions
- Proof of right to work in the United States
