Position Overview :
Abacus Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in designing building electrical systems.
As an Electrical PE, you will play a key role in designing and implementing electrical solutions for a variety of projects, contributing to the growth and success of our firm.
Responsibilities :
Lead Design and Development :
Lead the design and development of electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
Conduct electrical load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short circuit analysis to ensure system reliability and compliance with regulatory standards.
Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents using AutoCAD or Revit.
Collaboration :
Collaborate closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into building designs.
Perform site visits and inspections to assess existing electrical infrastructure, identify issues, and propose solutions.
Technical Guidance :
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
Stay current with industry trends, codes, and best practices in electrical engineering.
Qualifications : Required :
Required :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on building systems design.
Proficiency in electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or similar.
Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IBC, etc.).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality work on schedule and within budget constraints.
