Job Summary
The Data Manager will support the People Analytics team within the CAO organization to enhance our HR data quality and availability to enable decision-making initiatives.
In partnership with the People Systems (HRIS) team and Technology business partners, the Data Manager is responsible for HR data across its lifecycle from acquisition to reporting, focusing on how the data is collected, stored, processed, and delivered in a timely, accurate, and secure manner.
The Data Manager will also help develop and implement HR data policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Manage the development and maintenance of a HCM data catalog, HCM data taxonomy, a HR KPI matrix and a reporting inventory
- Collaborate on enterprise data and architecture projects, such as data migration, integration, or governance
- Manage data quality projects, including planning, scheduling, implementation and risk management
- Establish and maintain data management office (DMO) functions for HR including a data strategy, governance, stewardship, quality, security, etc.
- Perform profiling, analysis and data quality audits from source systems; identifies, documents, and communicates data quality issues, root causes, and impacts
- Design and execute data quality tests, validations, and reconciliations, and report on the results and findings
- Write and maintain technical documentation, such as data quality policies, procedures, standards, and specifications
- Manage the development and implementation data quality rules, standards, and metrics, and monitor their compliance and performance
- Collaborate with data owners, data stewards, data engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve data quality issues and implement data quality improvement initiatives and processes
- Perform data cleaning, validation, transformation, and integration tasks
- Identify and resolve data issues and gaps, such as missing data, duplicates, inconsistencies, errors, etc.
- Monitor and evaluate HR data quality, performance, and usage
- Research and evaluate new data quality tools and methodologies, and provide recommendations and best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / 4-year Degree
- 3 or more years of experience in data management or analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- 5 or more years of experience in data management or analysis
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient in data management tools and software, such as SQL, Excel, R, Python, etc.
- Experience managing projects, including planning, execution, and delivery
- Acts as a self-starter. Works independently to identify, design and implement internal process improvement, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing for greater scalability
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
