Senior Accountant $80 - $90K / year Kelly Government Solutions is hiring for a senior accountant with our customer in Chandler, AZ.
This is a direct hire opportunity.*Duties and Responsibilities : *The Accounting Manager will report to the Director of Finance to ensure the integrity of key processes by understanding systems, flow of transactions, internal controls and recommending efficiency and effective improvements.
This role will be responsible for overseeing month end and year-end close and ensure that financial statements are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to : investigating manufacturing variances, reconciling balance sheet accounts, preparing month end journal entries, maintaining / updating the chart of accounts, creating and administering job numbers, , reviewing payroll and related taxes, interfacing with third party accounting firm on all tax matters, coordinating audits and assisting in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financials.

- Ensures compliance with accounting and audit standards including GAAP, DCAA and FAR
- Assists with cash-flow, budget, and forecast preparation
- Prepares and provides support for actual vs. budget variances; to include manufacturing variances
- Works cross functionally across the business to ensure accounting transactions are recorded accurately and timely
- Administers, maintains, and reviews job numbers
- Oversee bi-weekly time sheets and payroll
- Prepares financial data and related information in support of external and internal audit activities.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate fixed-asset schedules
- Create and submit government reports and tax returns as related to projects
- Assist with ad-hoc analysis, special projects, and all other duties as assignedLead month-end financial close, including :
- Reconciliation of assigned Balance Sheet Accounts including bank, inventory, and WIP reconciliations
- Prepare month-end journal entries
- Track all journal entries on monthly JE listing
- Prepares variance explanation reports

Travel : * < 10%*Required Education and Experience : *1. Bachelor’s Degree in accounting2. Five (5) + years of accounting experience;
manufacturing experience a plus3. CPA preferred4. Intermediate to Advanced Excel capabilities5. Government experience, particularly defense department or military preferred*Work Authorization / Security Clearance : *Must be a U.
