Summary
As a part of the Solutions Architect team, the Proposal Writer will create sales and marketing material in support of company growth initiatives.
The position is responsible for writing and formatting sales proposals and marketing content in response to proposals (RFPs / RFIs), and for seeking out proposal opportunities with key accounts and R&D opportunities.
The Proposal Writer will maintain ULG’s knowledge base of past responses, and work to validate these responses with internal SMEs for future application on projects.
The successful candidate will be expected to work with the company’s executive leaders and subject matter experts to present a strategic sales
approach to proposal development. This position requires versatility and a demonstrated ability to thrive with task-oriented, self-paced project management.
Essential Duties + Responsibilities
- Manage the bid response process while including all relevant individuals including Sales, SMEs, SA, and managers.
- Document and manage responses to client questions.
- Coordinate simultaneous bids and complete proposal process to submit within defined turnaround time.
- Facilitate productive internal communication with Business Development Leaders, Subject Matter Experts, Client Service Lead, and Financial / / HR Departments to ensure timeliness and compliance of bid submissions.
- Create graphics, write and execute comprehensive responses for proposal questions, and respond thoroughly to (RFP) Request for Proposal specifications and requirements.
- Collaborate with Sales, SMEs and SAs to have drafted and reviewed responses, where required.
- Copy edit final bid drafts before submission.
- Complete final review of bid submission to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment to request information.
- Create graphics, write and execute comprehensive responses for proposal questions, and respond thoroughly to (RFP) Request for Proposal specifications and requirements.
- Contribute to marketing and sale / RFP bid conversion goals by continuously updating supplemental reports and legacy Knowledge Base databases.
- Document and regularly collaborate with the Sr. Solutions Architect to update the RFP response process and procedures to increase ULG’s RFI.
- Other duties as may be reasonably requested.
Education, Experience + Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Writing, English, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to write and win proposals - ideally 2 years of professional experience preferred.
- Strong writing and editing abilities; skilled in grammatical / stylistic structure.
- Expert in MS Office suite : Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio.
- Expertise in Adobe InDesign an advantage.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven, demanding, and high-stress environment.
- Management and project organization skills a must.
