Role Summary As the OTA Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting a global engineering operations team function that will maintain vehicle software updates and fleet health data for not only today’s adventures but tomorrow’s as well.
Specifically, this role will proactively monitor, triage, and support vehicle software updates and associated fleet health management data.
This role is situated meaningfully within vehicle software engineering with cross-functional visibility and is a ground floor opportunity to revolutionize the connected car segment through development of streamlined and automated processes for managing vehicle software updates.
Responsibilities Ensure robust software update support for all consumer / commercial vehicles by proactively managing software updates and anomalies across Rivian’s global fleet.
Assist and track OTA software update campaigns and associated processes across Rivian’s global fleet and promptly triage or resolve issues.
Serve as a subject matter expert regarding OTA on Rivian vehicles and provide education to internal Rivian teams, support, and diagnostics.
Perform data analysis, build dashboards, automated solutions and troubleshooting tools for software updates to maintain and monitor fleet health across Rivian fleet.
You will deploy, design, and implement analytics solutions using technology and deploy innovative offerings that facilitate fleet health user experience for software updates.
Responsible for predicting, testing, and validating OTA and vehicle telematics solutions, end to end in partnership with Rivian Engineering and other teams.
Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, design to onboard and validate new OTA integrations, solutions, and features prior to releasing to production.
Qualifications A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or another related field 3+ years working as technical / operations engineer within the IoT, fleet management / wireless / networking, or connected car / Autonomous vehicles / EV industries A healthy balance of operational support and development experience Experience with scripting in Python / PySpark, JavaScript or automation in similar languages Experience writing SQL queries to support business intelligence objectives Experience working with contemporary web API architectures such as REST or GraphQL Experience with AWS / cloud technologies, CI / CD pipelines is preferred Experience with automated data analysis and Big Data platforms (Databricks or Snowflake / Redshift) Experience with IoT solutions that involve complex software update campaigns, fleet management software lifecycle management, API / network integrations Self-motivated with the ability to dive right in, develop effective processes, and work to ensure our vehicles remain connected Strong cross-functional experience with engineering, design, and service / customer support This is where you will work- Department : Vehicle Software Engineering Location : Palo Alto / Irvine Pay Disclosure Salary Range / Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants : 120K- 140K / year (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
